Eigentlich kann man mit Maschine schneller stricken als von Hand. Trotzdem benötige ich für einen maschinegestrickten Pullover häufig mehr Zeit als jemand, der so etwas von Hand strickt. Der Grund: Gerade ein kompliziertes Muster wie dieses erfordert Konzentration und mehrere Stunden möglichst ohne Unterbrechung, um voranzukommen. Da stricke ich nicht mal eben nur zwei bis zehn Reihen und lege es dann wieder zur Seite. Aber die “mehreren Stunden” sind bei mir rar.
Trotzdem bin ich mittlerweile mit Vorder- und Rückenteil fertig und habe auch die Halsblende schon angebracht. Nun fehlen noch die Ärmel. Damit geht es aber erst am kommenden Wochenende weiter.



Generally it is possible to knit faster by machine than by hand. Anyway, for a machine-knit garment I need often more time than someone else would need to hand-knit it. The reason: A complicated pattern like this needs concentration and several hours without interruption to make real progress. You don't knit two to ten rows and then put your knitting aside again. And just these “several hours” are hard to find for me.
Even so, meanwhile the body pieces are done, and the neckband is finished and attached. Now only the sleeves are missing. But they will have to wait until next weekend.
