Das Buch zeigt, was jenseits der üblichen Pullover, Jacken, Socken und Schals mit einer Strickmaschine gestrickt kann und was normalerweise außerhalb der Reichweite des Handstrickens liegt.

This book was published in 1988 by Unwin Hyman, London. It has 128 pages, was originally sold for £7.95 and is to some extent the successor of Carter's “Machine Knits”. As the name suggests, it contains instructions for 25 elegant suits and dresses. The garments are sorted by season (five each for spring, summer, autumn and winter), and there's an additional chapter for evening wear. All instructions show clear diagrams with measurements in inches and centimeters. Of course, the yarns used are hardly available now, but tension swatches are given and the yarns are fairly common so should be easily substituted by current ones.
The book shows what is possible with a knitting machine beyond the usual sweaters, cardigans, socks and scarves and what is hardly ever tackled by hand knitters.
