Das Buch erschien 1992 bei Interweave Press, es hat 176 Seiten und kostete 16.95 US$. Es ist gewissermaßen die Fortsetzung zum “Prolific Machine Knitter”. Hier geht es nicht um Formgebung und rationelles Stricken, sondern fast ausschließlich um Einstrickmuster. Man findet über 300 Musterdiagramme für fast jedes denkbare Motiv, von Symbolen exotischer Kulturen über Wild-, Haus- und Fabeltiere, Pflanzen und Weihnachtliches bis zu Hobbymotiven. Dies ist kein Musterbuch für “klassische” und traditionelle Muster, sondern eine Sammlung für Leute, die sich und ihre Strickereien nicht so ernst nehmen. Die meisten Muster sind eher “niedlich”, verspielt und einfach spaßig. Dazu gibt es viele Tipps, z.B. zur generellen Verwendung der Motive, wie man sich das Einstricken erleichtert und wie man die Darstellung mit Maschenstich später noch verfeinern kann. Alle Illustrationen zeigen wieder Tiere, was gut zum verspielten Stil des Buches passt.
In der Buchmitte findet man einige Farbtafeln mit Abbildungen solcher Pullover. Besonders geeignet ist das Buch natürlich für alle, die mit elektronischen Strickmaschinen arbeiten. Gerade die großen Motive wird man kaum von Hand stricken. Wer aber immer schon mal davon geträumt hat, eine dörfliche Szenerie, eine Giraffe oder eine Hochrad fahrende Katze (mein Favorit) auf seinen Pullover zu stricken, der wird hier fündig.

But this time, there's nothing about shaping and prolific knitting, but almost exclusively motives and patterns. More than 300 pattern diagrams are offered, for almost every motif imaginable, from exotic symbols to wild, tame and mythical creatures, plants, Christmas and hobby. This is not a book of classic and traditional patterns, but a collection for people who do take themselves and their knitting with a pinch of salt. Most patterns are rather “cute”, playful or simply fun. Additionally there are lots of tips how to use the motives in general, how to make knitting easier and how to embellish the knitting, e.g. with duplicate stitch. Again, all illustrations show animals instead of real people, in tune with the style of the book.
Colour photos of some garments are shown in the center of the book. It is, of course, particularly well suited for all those who use electronic knitting machines because the large motives will hardly be knitted by hand. But if you have always dreamed of a sweater with a hometown scenery, a giraffe or a “bicycat” (my favourite), this book is for you.
